Social Activities
We work very hard as a club but we also have a lot of fun activities that members enjoy in participating. Our club loves to eat, so nearly all activities include a meal. By the way, we have creative and great cooks in Northeast Sertoma. Some of activities include:
Lake Picnic: Two of our members have a cabin on a lake not far from Lincoln and once a year we have an afternoon of boating, conversation and, of course, eating.
Chili Feed: On the Sunday before Halloween and our “Trunk or Treat” activity, we have a chili contest and feed at the home of a member couple. We also have a chili feed (on Halloween) for those club members and other persons who helped with “Trunk or Treat”.
Plays: We usually go to the Lofte Theatre at Manly and the playhouse at Mahoney State Park each year. This time includes eating out.
Monthly Socials: Almost on a monthly basis, we choose an eating establishment for all who can, to join us for an evening meal and fellowship.
Wine Tour: We had a program this summer that told about all the wineries in Nebraska. We chartered a bus and did our own wine tour. It was fun; informative, and there were eats and of course wine on this social. Ergo, the bus.
Inaugural: In June we have a more formal evening where we install the officers for the next year, present awards and present our “Sertoman of the Year” award.
